POCKETART Collective
Under the leadership of choreographers Johana Pocková and Sabina Bočková, in their projects the collective brings together artists from the fields of dance, music, scenography, visual arts and light design and other technical and production collaborators. In their work the collective involves professional and non-professional dancers of all ages and presents their projects not only in theatres, but also in outdoor and site-specific locations.
The collective's work is characterized by tackling topics that transcend the personal experience of the individual and touch upon societal issues such as media manipulation, global environmental threats, stress in a competitive environment, the position of the human being in the corporate work system and women in contemporary society. The creators try to approach these topics comprehensively through detailed work with all theatrical components.
POCKETART is a collective body / POCKETART is a space for common reflection of our society / POCKETART is people of different ages and genders dancing together and sharing the joy of creation and movement / POCKETART is a place where community is created

MAKING LOVE
In her upcoming solo project, choreographer and dancer Sabina Bočková continues the research on the position of women in contemporary society which has begun in the Fairy Tales project. The research is further deepening the exploration of this topic by focusing on the specific area of female sexuality, its overlap with spirituality and the perception of these areas in the socio-cultural context of today. How is sexuality connected to that which transcends us? How is it shaped by pop culture, pornography, or Instagram spirituality? How can we penetrate beyond these labels and find our own way in our time? "I feel a dire need for a true integration of female sexuality as a normal part of our society that is accepted without prejudice. I want to find a way to express that it doesn't belong to anyone…I think sexuality as a public thing is a huge issue in our society and my goal is to contribute to the free and authentic experience of one's own body without fear of the outside gaze." painting: Mary Magdalene // Artemisia Gentileschi, 1620
